Religious Education Program

The Religious Education Program offers classes in religious education for children in grades K - 10. Classes for grades K - 4th are held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 5:15 PM. Grades 5 - 8 meet at 6:15 - 7:30 PM on Wednesday. Classes are held at St. Bernard School on Pearl Street. Confirmation classes are held every Sunday morning from 9:00 - 10:30 AM, alternating grades 9 & 10, in the St. Patrick Parish Center. Registration for classes takes place in June and again in late August. Religious Education classes begin in September.

Students in grade 2 receive First Penance and First Eucharist. Preparation for these sacraments requires two years (first and second grade) of religious education. We do offer a Sacrament Class for children in grades 4 - 9   who have never been baptized,  who have been baptized in another religion, or for those who have been baptized Catholic but have not received the Eucharist. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings during Religious Education Classes.

Confirmation is received by students in grade 10. Attendance at Religious Education or Catholic School in grades 7 and 8 is required for admission to grade 9. Instruction in preparation for Confirmation is given in 9th grade. The 10th grade students do their immediate preparation and celebrate the Sacrament in the Spring.

Adults wishing to become full members of the Catholic Church who have been baptized but never received Holy Communion or Confirmation or have been baptized in any Christian denomination and wish to become a full member of the Catholic Church, please call Carolyn Dague @ 860-741-0572 or the Rectory Office at 860-745-2411.
